Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I can't find the part I am looking for?

We are constantly updating the range of products available on our online store. If you haven't found what you need – just email us your request and we will provide you with a tailor-made solution.

  • What materials are used to produce titanium parts?

Yperion Titanium caliper pistons are always made of hardened titanium alloys, we use Ti-6Al-4V and much stronger VT22 titanium alloy for this application. Material strength gives us a possibility to calculate thin walled pistons when weight is very critical. The piston surface hardness determines durability of the DLC plasma coating. With VT22 alloy, a value of 43.5 HRC is achievable, this greatly exceeds the value of standard Ti-6Al-4V that has not been heat treated. This option is the coolest upgrade to your braking system, you can apply technology from the world of racing to your standard caliper like a Subaru or Evo caliper that comes standard with aluminum pistons (the problem of the aluminum piston is the highest thermal conductivity, which always harms the entire brake system).

  • What is HRC?

HRC is the hardness of steel according to the Rockwell Scale

  • What is DLC plasma coating?

Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coatings exist in several different forms of amorphous carbon materials that display some of the unique properties of diamond.
